As towns went, Nancy was par for the course. Its main name to fame being its centrality and a place to hire a car for our upcoming trip into southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

A short trip today took us to La Rochere and the oldest glass producing factory in the world: La Rochere Glass Factory. Founded in 1475 the factory has been creating hand – made glassware for in excess of half a century. Bob and I were fortunate enough to observe the glass blowing process in which hand crafted mould were utilised for creating uniformity throughout the pieces produced.

Were we not living on board a sea going boat where glass is too easily broken, a piece or two would have made it into our belongings.
