We stayed put today and took a bus into the nearby town of Marmonde.
This was a town known for its tomato festival, Eglise Notre Dame – sections of which date back to the 13th century and wall mural created from millions of small tiles.
A quick visit to the tourism centre enabled us to procure a map.
The mural
The Eglise Notre Dame
and it manicured gardens.
The town was full of hidden treasures.
Aged walls showed the ravages of time and told the story of their construction.
We loved the various door handles.
Day’s end: a quick shop, followed by a taxi ride back to the boat.
