Departing Emmaville, Bob and I soon found ourselves travelling through the landscape inhabited by Captain Thunderbolt, an infamous bushranger of New South Wales who made a living as a horse thief during the mid 1850s.  

After a peaceful night, an early morning departure from Bonalbo soon found us turning onto the Bruxner Highway and heading west.
