A Birthday and More!
I think I will make the ‘Week That Was!’ a weekly heading for the short recap of happenings aboard.
A week of fantastic weather came to a sudden end as a predicted weather front arrived three days early. The lack of planes in the air is certainly playing havoc with the predictions.
The big positive? Temperatures remain in the low 20’s!
Boat Work, Australis 1
The first section of the traveller for the main arrived. That was excitement plus for guess who!
The new water filter for the engine was fitted,
but leaks abounded. Off it came for some additional modifications to be made.
With water able to enter the anchor locker, its doors which happen to be in the forward cabin were damaged. Off they came this week. A quick sanding,
a protective layer of perspex
and some epoxy protection on the back, then the varnishing commenced.
Quilting
I am loving the chance to work on this. One of the positives that comes from COVID.
Another square has been tacked together. The twelve I am working on comes from Katrina Hadjimichael’s Australian Sunbonnet Sue quilt.
I am playing with some of the patterns so as they suit the young lady for whom the quilt is being made.
A birthday
Yes, that day of mine came around once more. We took the day off and dined on Sushi at one of Newcastle’s reserves. There was even a rare selfie!
Just loved my presies.
Some updates from New Zealand were added – the links are below. A few more days to go, then work on last year’s trip can recommence.
